Guided Fishing Available with Elliot and 247 Lures

Admittedly, the vast majority of our time is spent in our workshop building lures. But we also try to get out on the water as much as possible. And we love introducing others to this wonderful world of fishing we’ve been so obsessed with! Elliot is registered with the state of Connecticut as a fishing guide service, and insured as a kayak fishing guide.

Most of Elliot’s time on the water is spent in his Hobie kayaks, and this is where our Guided Fishing really shines. A day on the water can be spent in freshwater targeting largemouth bass, crappie, bowfin, and pike; or in the saltwater of Long Island Sound targeting striped bass, bluefish, false albacore, fluke, black sea bass, and more. Depending on your individual goals and experience level, every guided fishing trip is custom-planned to fit each angler specifically. No two trips are exactly alike!

Anglers will be responsible for obtaining their own Connecticut Fishing License (click this link if you don’t already have one), and bring personal items such as drinks, food, sunglasses, sun protection, etc. All the fishing gear and kayak gear - including life jackets, rods, reels, lures/bait - will be provided as part of the guided trip.

We can also take our time on the water to be more of a Hobie Test Drive or Instructional Fishing Day. Elliot has been fishing from Hobie kayaks since 2013, and is well-versed in the operational and maintenance of each Hobie model. If you’re thinking about buying a Hobie for yourself, spending some time on the water is a great way to learn about the pros and cons of each model. Additionally, Elliot can offer some guidance to help you become a better angler - whether that means learning to fly fish, or using plugs for striped bass - every trip is again tailored to each individual client.

Please send me an email to learn more about our Guided Fishing Trips. In that email give me a brief overview of what you have in mind - either target species, or type of day you’d prefer. Once we hear from you, we’ll send over a full PDF document with all the items to bring (and items not to bring), as well as our waiver (that must be signed for insurance purposes).

Once we iron out some details and set a date, a 50% deposit will be required to reserve and hold your date. As I’ve said above, each trip is customized and tailored to the angler, but as a rough guideline here are some basic prices…

  • 4hrs on the water - $250 for one angler, or $450 for two anglers

  • 8hrs on the water - $400 for one angler, or $700 for two anglers

  • Trips with more than two anglers can be arranged, as one of our good friends is a full-time kayak guide - check out Josh Rayner - CT Fish Nerd
