Fish-Skull Faux Bucktail is a tapered synthetic fly tying fiber designed to imitate long natural bucktail. The fibers have the same basic diameter, gentle crinkle, and taper as natural bucktail. It looks almost identical and has the same distinctive action in the water, however the fibers aren't hollow, reducing flare and allowing your fly to sink faster. Every Faux Bucktail is uniform in length, giving you more than twice the usable amount over natural bucktails, thus eliminating the headache of searching for ideal strands. Simply peel off your desired amount, trim to length, and tie in.
