As we start receiving tails from our suppliers for this fall/winter, we’ve got a small storage bin full of tails that don’t quite fit our standard grading system. These are at first appearance very large overall size tails. But they vary quite a bit in hair length, so we’re going to try something a little different this time. These don’t come close to fitting in our usual bags, and they still stick out the top of our oversized bags for Select and Premium tails. Each picture shows a very nice Large tail on the side for comparison.
This listing offers ten tails, each individually numbered “BBT” numbers 1-10. Each tail is priced depending on it’s overall size and hair length. They have all been numbered and packaged, and they are ready to go. When you purchase any these tails you’ll be receiving the EXACT tail you selected and pay for. No bait and switch here, as honest and transparent as we can make it without a retail store of our own.
For what it’s worth, here’s our rough take… the fullest/thickest tails are probably #2,5,6,7. The longest hair fibers are probably #3,4,9. While #1, 8, 10 have a combination of slightly longer hair and lots of it. Also worth mentioning, tails #9 and #10 have not been washed and degreased - they are still nice natural tails, a little greasy and a little gritty; #1-8 have been washed gently.
Yes, you can purchase more than one, there is no limit per person. First come first served, adding it to your cart doesn’t “Hold” it for you, you’ve got to check out through the payment system. Any purchases made before Monday morning will ship before end of day Monday.
Just a few notes on bucktails before you go… Yes, these are natural products, literally from the butt of a whitetail deer. There will be variations in size, hair length, color, texture, and more. We do our very best to ensure quality and standards, but please let us know if you feel like you received less than you paid for. Also, because these are processed and packaged in-house, there can be a slight odor and sometimes moisture within the tail. We get these tails as dry as we can without ruining the hair.
Most of our tails are packaged with desiccant cards to prevent moisture and mold, but we recommend proper care to prevent issues. Be sure to close the bag tightly when storing your tails. Store in a cool, dry place. If grease or mold does appear on the hide, wipe with Dawn or degreaser, then dry and store properly.
