Needlefish Slow Sink 9" ~2.5oz
247 Lures has always been a big fan of Needlefish plugs! This Needlefish was designed at 9″ long and weight between 2.25-2.5oz to be big enough to satisfy those die-hard, Needle-loving Surfcasters. Just like our 7″ Needlefish, this 9″ Needlefish is designed and weighted to sink more slowly than most competitors’ lures – perfect for those shallow boulder fields. The lure body is also weighted to sink while in a horizontal position, presenting an excellent profile to fish even as you let it sink.
Cast it out, let it sink to your desired depth, and retrieve slowly. Give it a twitch occasionally, which will flash the underbelly sideways at the fish.
Standard/Stock colors for the 9” Slow Sink Needlefish include: 01 Solid Black, 04 Olive Green (over white), 05 Island Green (over white), 09 Hanky Brown (over white), 13 Mint Oreo (black over chartreuse), 52 Deep Blue (black over pearl blue), 53 Blurple, 54 New Moon (black over silver), 89 Copperpot, and 95 Yellow (over white) - all other colors are limited and/or special order colors
As of January 2024, all our Needlefish lures - including this 9” model - are being rigged standard with one treble hook on the belly swivel and a custom tied FLAG on the tail loop (no hook on the rear). These can easily be rigged with dressed or undressed single hooks on the rear, or a treble if you prefer. But it is our opinion, in agreement with many respected anglers in the community, that a lure rigged with only one hook is distinctly better for both the striped bass as well as the angler.
Inventory that you see listed here is real-time (as accurate as we can manage it). When placing an order through our website, the vast majority of orders (>99%) will ship within just a day or two. If by chance our inventory system is inaccurate, you’ll hear from us promptly to determine the best way to fulfill your order and ensure your satisfaction.
(Exact weight and colors of lures will vary batch to batch and lure to lure. All of our lures are made in small batches, many of our colors are custom blends we mix ourselves, and even our internal lead weights are cut by hand. We do our best to keep lure shape, weight, and paint as consistent as possible, but 247 Lures is very far from mass-production where every lure is exactly the same.)
